Ate here Saturday too. Carolina catfish and hushpuppies Saturday, burnt ends and fried okra today. Don't even feel bad about forgetting my lunch at home.

Oh man that looks so good.
I'm cutting back calories and will be having a protein shake thing for lunch. 8 ounces of liquid deliciousness.

I mean, you're in Texas so it probably beats this, but this is the best BBQ I, personally, have ever had.

You come. I buy.

"Carolina catfish and hushpuppies Saturday, burnt ends and fried okra...."
Is this a foreign language? I can't imagine what a burnt end might be and am afraid to find out.

It's the end of a brisket cut off and cooked again. Despite the name it actually like melts in your mouth.

That's what I need to go with this.

This reminds me of the video where Californians eat Ohio regional food (goetta, Cincinnati chili, pierogies, etc.) and make faces and tell the camera how it doesn't taste like Pizza My Heart or Cheesecake Factory so it must be inedible.
That stuff looks rill good, though I thought you Carolingians liked oil/vinegar slaw. I know I do.

I'm sitting in a Ford dealership in Vermont, haha.

good BBQ is getting pricey. I have a cold ham/cheese sandwich, Pringles, and a couple Chip's Ahoy cookies for lunch today.
Quick question, what town were the Torchbug pictures taken? I need to add the place to the awesome tracker map :]

I had catfish once. We went to Galveston TX for our Honeymoon. It was the most vile thing I've tried to eat in a long time. It tastes like the way it smells when I clean a filthy fish tank. It's on my short list of things not to eat ever again. The only other thing on this list is Salmon.

I think the Catfish/hushpuppies/8 oz slaw combo was like $15, and that is one menu item, the burnt ends and slaw with a side of the okra (so two separate items) was about the same.

Your taste buds are wrong. Catfish and salmon is delicious. Suggesting otherwise is hearsay.

Funny thing is I love like all other fish and seafood and Salmon is good in Sushi form. I really should amend my list.

Come visit and I'll order it, and give you a bite. Seriously, I don't think it'd supposed to smell bad because the container it came in is in the trash like 2 feet away from my nose and I can't smell it.

cool, noted :]
Worth the price though, looks gooood

What's the name of the place?

Big Fattys. Let the record show that I am now drinking their BBQ sauce.

The record has been updated. Any further business?

Yeah, catfish is not supposed to smell bad. It is an oilier fish, but it's still a white fish like haddock or cod. A little more flavor, greasier, but not supposed to smell.
In general, fish shouldn't smell, with the exception of the more oilier types like mackerel or something.

It didn't smell. It tasted like that smell.
I'll have to try it again sometime.

Is it heresy? Or is it actually hearsay?
